The Uttar Pradesh government has transferred nine IPS officers as several districts in Gonda, Sultanpur, Meerut, Jhansi, Bijnor, Sambhal and Balrampur get new appointments.
The transfers also include new SPs and SSPs for the districts and an officer posted to the Police Headquarters in Lucknow.
Here is the list of transferred IPS officers:
1. Vineet Jaiswal (IPS, RR-2014) has been transferred from SP Gonda to SP Sultanpur
2. Charu Nigam (IPS, RR-2014) has been transferred from SP Sultanpur to SP UP-112, Lucknow
3. Avinash Pandey (IPS, RR-2015) has been transferred from SSP Meerut to Police Headquarters, Lucknow
4. B.B.G.T.S. Murti (IPS, RR-2015) has been transferred from SSP Jhansi to SSP Meerut
5. Abhishek (IPS, RR-2015) has been transferred from SP Bijnor to SP Gonda
6. Vikas Kumar (IPS, RR-2017) has been transferred from SP Balrampur to SSP Jhansi
7. Krishna Kumar (IPS, RR-2018) has been transferred from SP Sambhal to SP Bijnor
8. Vikas Chandra Tripathi has been transferred as SP Sambhal. The officer has been transferred from SP/Additional SP Barabanki
9. Martand Prakash Singh has been transferred as SP Balrampur. He has been transferred from SP/Additional SP Hardoi
The transferred officers have been directed to report to their postings after necessary formalities and handing over of charge.
New Police Chiefs For Several Districts
The officers have been transferred as new police chiefs for various districts in the state. Meerut and Jhansi – two of the state’s important districts – will have their new SSPs with B.B.G.T.S. Murti and Vikas Kumar assuming the charge respectively.
Gonda and Sultanpur will also witness a change with Vineet Jaiswal and Abhishek being transferred as SPs of these districts while Charu Nigam takes up a new assignment in Lucknow as SP UP-112.
Sambhal, Bijnor and Balrampur will also see a change of guard with Vikas Chandra Tripathi, Krishna Kumar and Martand Prakash Singh taking over as police chiefs.
Two SPS Cadre Officers Get IPS Posts
Two SPS cadre officers have been transferred to the Indian Police Service cadre on promotion and will have independent charge of their districts.
Vikas Chandra Tripathi has been transferred as SP Sambhal and Martand Prakash Singh has been transferred as SP Balrampur.
What These Posts Mean
District SPs and SSPs are vital to the maintenance of law and order, crime control, and co-ordination with the district administration. Thus, changes in this department have considerable impact on how poling and administration takes place in the district.
The latest transfer is part of the regular reshuffling of officers in the Uttar Pradesh Police force. The state government has not stated reasons for these particular transfers.
The new officers are expected to take over after formalities are completed and are expected to carry forward development and other activities relating to law, order and police administration in the districts.
