Uttarakhand Police Sees Fresh Reshuffle as 12 ASP-Rank Officers Get New Postings
Yesterday evening the Uttarakhand government quietly pushed through a sizeable set of transfers in the police force. Twelve officers of the Provincial Police Service, all at ASP rank, have been moved to new assignments. The orders were signed by Home Secretary Shailesh Bagoli on 14 September and take effect immediately. The government has said the changes are being made in public interest and to fill vacant posts. All the officers have been told to take charge of their new roles without delay and send their joining reports through the DGP’s office. The move that is drawing the most attention is that of Pramod Kumar. He had been ASP City in Dehradun for a long stretch. He has now been shifted to ASP City Rudrapur. Taking his place in Dehradun is Shekhar Chandra Suyal, who was earlier ASP Rural in Haridwar. Swatantra Kumar Singh, who was looking after the Vigilance Sector in Dehradun, has been given charge of ASP Rural-2 Dehradun. That post had been lying vacant. Manoj Katyal moves from ASP Haldwani to Deputy Commandant of the 31st Battalion PAC in Rudrapur. Uttam Singh Negi goes from ASP Udham Singh Nagar to the Vigilance Sector in Dehradun. Harbans Singh shifts from Almora to Haldwani. Anusha Badola, who was ASP ATC Haridwar, has been posted as ASP Crime and Traffic in Udham Singh Nagar. Amit Kumar moves from Nainital to Tehri. Rajesh Kumar Bhatt leaves the High Court Vigilance post in Nainital and joins Police Headquarters as ASP. Mithilesh Kumar Singh steps up from Deputy Commandant of the 31st PAC to SP Vigilance at the High Court in Nainital. Abhay Singh shifts within Haridwar from the city side to the rural charge, while Deepak Singh goes from Tehri to ASP Haridwar City. Here is the full list for quick reference: These transfers come at a time when the state is slowly gearing up for the 2027 assembly elections. Dehradun, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar have seen several changes at the mid-level. Officers who had completed long tenures in one place have been moved, which is in line with the usual transfer policy. The officers are expected to join their new posts over the next couple of days. Once they take charge, the formal reports will go up to the government. A copy of the order has also been marked to the Accountant General’s office.
